Joyful energy, flashes of rumination, and daily observation push me to create my art. I think of it as an ongoing quest where I set out to resolve my feelings and arrive at documenting fragments of memory.

Through the rough application of charcoal and oil stick, offset with shapes painted in sour candy colours, I create loose narratives where line work, form, and colour is used to convey harmony and tension.

I paint my human condition.
This may, ultimately, hold a mirror to the viewer and spark a strong emotion or help connect to a life experience.

Natalie Reynolds is an abstract painter living and working in Vancouver, Canada. She creates bold, intricate works that spark with rich colour, turbulent brushwork, and restless energy freed of constraint.

Born in Edmonton, Canada, Reynolds took art lessons as a child at the Art Gallery of Alberta and went on to receive a diploma in graphic design from MacEwan University. Other painting studies included courses at Emily Carr University and The Art Students League in New York.

After a move to Vancouver, and years of working in the design field, she began her full-time painting practice in 2012.

She has exhibited in numerous group shows, and has been interviewed in the Huffington Post and other publications. Her art was recently featured on an Italian book cover.

Her works are held in private and public collections in North America and Europe.
