Jesse Toso

I've always produced art in one form or another whether painting, drawing, sculpting or photography. In the past decade I've focused my artistic passion on wood sculpture.
Raised by a carpenter, and having becoming one myself, I've been surrounded by the natural beauty of wood as long as I can remember.
Years of cutting and shaping wood have led me to a deeper understanding of its characteristics and versatility and an interest in exploring other mediums.

Jesse is an artist and award winning carver with a degree in visual arts from Simon Fraser University. Accomplished in wood working and carpentry, he has competed in numerous carving competitions across Canada, and has demonstrated carving and clay sculpture at many venues and events in and around Vancouver. He has created furniture, and carvings for numerous businesses and private individuals.

He has competed in carving competitions across Canada and was featured in the Discovery Channel TV show "A Cut Above" as one of 12 contestants competing in multiple chainsaw carving challenges.

Accomplished in wood working and carpentry he creates furniture and carvings from his business, Toso Wood Works located in Studio 101 in the iconic Parker Studios Building in Vancouver, BC

He has produced large chainsaw carvings for interiors and exteriors of businesses, private homes and public spaces and his work has appeared in a number of feature movies filmed in BC.
