David Tycho

David was born in Vancouver and graduated from U.B.C, where he studied painting under renowned Canadian artist Gordon Smith.

For the past 30 years, David’s painting has straddled the genres of abstraction and representation, at times more experimental and intuitive and at other times more
reflective of his surroundings. His expressionist works are inspired by locations ranging from pristine wilderness to urban sprawl. He also produces digital composite images printed on aluminum.

David had his first solo show in Vancouver in 1993, and has shown regularly in respected commercial and public galleries ever since. He has exhibited his work across Canada, and also in New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Geneva, Brussels, Milan, Singapore and Manila. His paintings and digital prints are collected worldwide.
